Friends of Mada exists to support the work of Mada al-Carmel - Arab Center for Applied Social Research by making grants in support of research and education conducted within Israel and to educate the American public with respect to the condition of the Palestinian citizens of Israel.

Friends of Mada was established in 2009 and gained 501c(3) status in 2012. We have hosted numerous talks and public events in the Boston area over the years and supported various research projects that aligned with our mission.
Most recently, we gave a grant to Mada al-Carmel to help underwrite a large research project called Narrating a

Most recently, we gave a grant to Mada al-Carmel to help underwrite a large research project called Narrating a Silenced History, which entails compilation of oral histories about villages that remained after the 1948 Nakba. The work will eventually feed into the establishment of a digitalized archive of community history.
